Randy Simmons was the epitome of what a good
law enforcement officer should be. If I could just
be ten percent of him I would be ten eight. Randy
a true hero. My thoughts and prayers will be with
his family and friends. Thank you for doing your
part Randy. I never personally knew him, but I will
meet him on the other side. In Jesus Name!!!

I’m not sure how I arrived at this site. But, I’m glad I did.

I’ve never met Randy, never met his family or friends but the testimonials, and especially the beautiful, descriptive words of thanks, all paint a wonderful picture of a life well lived.

Randy’s life continues to be a blessing, even to a stranger in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Dear Lisa:
I saw you today, May 5, 2011, at the LAPD Memorial. It broke my heart to see you in deep mourning, yet holding your head up high. As a wife of law enforcement (L.A. Sheriff’s Dept-3.5 years; US Secret Service 24 years; retiree/contractor; and after 9/11 Federal Air Marshal for five years) my prayers and heart are with you. I saw you place your rose at his name block on the wall and was trying to find his name to place my rose there too. May you be blessed with the best memories of your husband’s bravery, generosity and goodness. My husband went to Holy Cross to witness the burial, even though he did not personally know him. He was moved more than words could describe. God bless you and your family and may Randy forever rest in peace.

Two years have passed and I still I felt compelled to come to this site and leave a comment. Though I didn’t know Officer Simmons personally, I feel as though I did. After reading various interviews from people who knew him, I can tell that he was a true hero. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with his wife and two children. I just hope that they have found comfort in his strength and bravery.

I got a call from the LA Fraternal Order of Police today, 9/7/2010 asking me for a donation. I googled LA FOP on my computer and somehow found this site. I read Officer Randy Simmons Bio and I do remember watching the news about him on TV. He surely was a very good person and a great role model for everyone because he not only was a good Police Officer but he cared so much for children and helped them.
I was asked by the Officer on the telephone “do you feel safe knowing you have Law Enforcement that protect and serve?” to which I answered “yes, very much so”. It’s an overcast day today and the weather was supposed to be 75 degrees but it is the kind of weather that is calming and when I read about good people that have passed on like Officer Randy, I realize that we should always be thankful for men and women who a serve as Officers to Protect us and that put their lives on the line for us everyday. With Sept. 11 approaching, I say a prayer for all those brave people who died and for their families left behind. I also pray that everyone realizes that we should cherish life and be good to each other by stopping all the hate and sensless acts of violence. Life is Precious and Peace to all.

Even though Its been over two years since his passing it is wonderful to know that his legacy and memory continues on . Dear Mrs. Simmons,

It has been two years and still I think about the testament to manhood, family, career and community your husband bestowed on us all. I watched ,as did most of Los Angeles and surrounding areas, glued to the television as we said farewell to him at his home-going.

I pray that God has sent a calm, healing and peace over you and your family. While you nor we will ever forget him, and will always miss him, please revel in the pride and joy that only you and your family can truly possess in knowing he was your own.

As a former wife, I can only imaging what it cost you to share him and words can never convey the thanks and gratitude the city feels for your selflessness.

I truly hope this note comes to you today and lifts you vs make you you relive pain or sorrow. He has not been forgotten, nor has your family. I pray you are all happy, well and prosperous.

The website is beautiful. I didn’t know about it. It came up when I searched for Matthew because his ESPN link wasn’t working for me. Though I never knew this GREAT man of God, he was a Blessing to all those he touched. So sad that his life was taken sooooooo short, but thank our God in heaven he made a difference while he was here on earth..

So you are at peace Randy, so go on and take your rest, we all loved you, but God loved love you best. So we will meet again on the other shore, where the departing of GOD’S children will be no more………………………………….

Mrs. Simmons…

I am so pleased to find this site, which I hope will serve as living memorial to a great officer. I remember seeing Ofc. Simmons on the series LAPD: Life on the Beat. I was so impressed with his professional attitude, I strived,prayed, worked hard and succeded in becoming a police officer in Atlanta Ga.

I was in the academy when Ofc. Simmons was called home, but his spirit will continue to live in scores of us who wear the uniform near and far.

I am so sorry for your loss one year later. But thank you, because for the time Ofc. Simmons was here,he was the motivation some of us needed to take that step into this career.

Rest in peace and please watch over us Officer Simmons……..Thank you
